ANTON SIBIL ABOUT SUB-TYPES OF TECHNO-MUSIC. PART 1

Антон Сибиль про подвиды техно

In the 1980s Detroit gave birth to one of today’s most popular music genres: techno. Later, 11 different sub-styles emerged from it. Today, in this article, musician Sibil Anton Valerievich will tell you about these subspecies.

ANTON SIBYL ABOUT DETROIT TECHNO

Detroit techno is the foundation of techno music. Musicians separated all other types from it. It was developed in the 1980s by Detroit artists. It’s unclear who invented this type of techno, but the three artists most associated with its birth are Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May.

They were called the Belleville Three. The musicians were classmates and supposedly met in the basement to create electronic music tracks. It is believed that it was these three who laid the groundwork for the genre, and many other artists later carried the flag.

Sybil Anton notes the amusing fact that Derrick May once called Detroit techno a complete mistake, despite its global success.

SIBIL ANTON VALERIEVICH ABOUT AISIDE-TECHNO

This kind of techno is called “acid techno. This style has its own interesting history. The Roland company once created an experimental synthesizer that imitated a bass guitar. However, something went wrong, and the synth was discontinued.

Some Chicago producers continued to use the synthesizer and discovered its hidden potential. It turns out that the unusual sound of the device creates a great techno sound.

Many Germans believe that Berlin laid the foundations of techno music. Though this is not true, the country has been attached to this genre from the very beginning, which Anton Sibil finds terrific.

Coincidentally, techno music emerged during the fall of the Berlin Wall, a time when the German capital was undergoing major changes in everything, including music. From there, Berlin techno was born. It is strikingly similar to Detroit techno with a few differences.

The genre was born in 1989, when the first Love Parade was held in the streets of Berlin. After that, the parade became an annual festival and attracted millions of techno fans during its peak. Even after it stopped, German artists continue to produce Berlin techno.

SIBIL ANTON ABOUT AMBIENT TECHNO

Ambient techno music, also known as intelligent techno, is a subgenre of ambient and techno music. It is the perfect harmony between the rhythmic melodies of techno and the atmospheric tones of ambient music. Like most genres of techno, it was invented in the 1990s, right after techno.
