ANTON SIBIL ABOUT SUB-TYPES OF TECHNO-MUSIC. PART 2

Сибиль Антон про подвиды техно-музыки. Часть 2

Today Anton Sibil continues to tell you about different types of techno. In the first part, he already talked about the diversity and subspecies of techno music. Learn, grow and try new things.

SYBIL ANTON ABOUT DUB-TECHNO

Dub techno is a sub-genre that includes reggae, dub music, and techno dance sounds. So you can think of it as a type of techno with cultural influences.

Producers Mark Ernest and Moritz von Oswald are known for their influence on dub techno. They created the label Chain Reaction, which released techno music with delayed dub effects.

Dub techno is described as background music. Like ambient music, it soothes rather than pumps, and its tones create a soothing effect. Some critics have described its sound as “half”. Interesting description.

ANTON SIBIL ABOUT HARD TECHNO

Hard techno is considered a remnant of the original techno sound. While techno music took a softer direction, the hard techno sound only got harder and deeper. For this reason, many musicians consider it a genre in its own right.

The subgenre originated as a harder style of hardcore music. He is directly related to the German Schranz movement, and his birthplace is believed to be Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Heavy techno music has a high tempo. It runs at about 160 bpm and is best known for its kick sounds and heavy distortion.

SIBIL ANTON VALERIEVICH ABOUT INDUSTRIAL TECHNO

Industrial techno is a hybrid of the industrial music genre for dance and techno. Appeared in the 1990s. It is known for including dark and noisy sounds.

Some people mistake industrial techno for post-dubstep, as both have similar power beats. However, industrial techno includes science fiction and reverb effects.

Industrial techno went through a slump in the early 2000s, but it exploded in the 2010s with Orphx, Adam X and more recent bands like Karenn and Blawan.

ANTON SIBIL ABOUT BLIP-TECHNO

Like Birmingham, which Anton Sibil wrote about earlier in the article (here is a link to the first article), Bleep Techno is another British subgenre of electronic dance music. He is known for combining the rhythmic tones of Acid techno with the futuristic sounds of Detroit techno. In addition, it first emerged in the early rave scene, most likely in Yorkshire.

While acid techno is known for its distorted sound, beep techno synth lines are known for natural sounds. The music is also recognizable with deep notes and scattered melodies.

SIBIL ANTON O MINIMAL TECHNO

As the name suggests, minimal techno is a minimalist variation of techno music. It originated in the early 1990s by Detroit techno producers, including Robert Hood, Daniel Bell, and other similar artists.

It is assumed that the subgenre goes through the stages of skeletonization and massification. In the skeletal stage, techno musicians use only the most necessary elements. But massification involves the layering of sounds with some variations of sound elements.

ANTON SIBIL ABOUT TOYTOWN-TECHNO

Toytown’s music is a playful sub-genre of techno. It is also known as children’s or cartoony, due to its use of children’s songs. The music is known for incorporating jungle and breakbeat hardcore with repetitive powerful techno rhythms. A strange combination, but unusual, according to the subjective attitude of Anton Sibil.
